Hi! I'm Debra and I will be your Chief Instructor on your journey to the ultimate Freedom: learning to Fly!

I grew up in the era when the space race had just begun and watched Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. All I wanted to do was grow up and become a pilot, or an Astronaut, but everyone around me said: "you can't because you're a Girl!" I was told not to be a dreamer, but get married and raise a family. So I did: raised 4 boys in fact. After my youngest was born I a survived a year-long battle with cancer. As I recovered and my youngest was to start pre-school, I did some deep soul-searching about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life -- about what would make ME HAPPY, not what everyone else said I should do.

The one thing I always wanted to do was learn to Fly! I thought: "if I can survive cancer, I can do any thing!"

So come Sept., I dropped the 4 boys off to school, and headed to the airport for that first lesson -- and never looked back.

10 months later I obtained my Private Pilots Licence

8 months later I obtained my Commercial Pilots Licence

5 months after , I obtained my Instructors Rating

There were still those who questioned my motives in taking time away from what  they called "my duty as wife and mother", but I look at it this way:

"If my kids see me working hard to fullfill my dreams, they'll know by my example that they can fullfill their own dreams too ---nothing is impossible if you work hard!"
